Privacy

What stays on your device

  • Your resume data (name, contact info, experience, education, skills) is encrypted with your password and stored in your browser's local storage. It never leaves your device.
  • Your password is never stored or transmitted. It's used only in your browser to encrypt and decrypt your data.
  • Your identifier (e.g. "silver-oak") is stored locally so you can find your resume on a shared computer. It contains no personal information.

What is processed by our server

When you use the AI features, your input passes through our server to OpenRouter and then to Anthropic, which runs the AI model. This data is processed to generate a response and then discarded — it is not saved to any database by us, OpenRouter, or Anthropic.

Specifically, the following is sent:

  • Interview answers — your answers to the guided interview questions, so the AI can generate professional bullet points.
  • Bullet text for refinement — when you ask to improve a bullet, the text of that bullet and your feedback.
  • Skills and interests for opportunity matching — used to suggest relevant local opportunities.
  • Pasted resume text for import — if you paste an existing resume, the text is sent so the AI can organize it into sections.

Your stored resume (the encrypted data in your browser) is never sent anywhere. Only the specific text you actively submit through the AI features leaves your device.

What we don't do

  • We don't create accounts or require sign-ups.
  • We don't use cookies or analytics trackers.
  • We don't store your resume on any server.
  • We don't sell or share any data.

Shared computers

This tool is designed for shared computers (like school labs). Each user picks a fun identifier and sets their own password. Your data is encrypted separately from other users on the same computer. However, anyone with physical access to the computer could delete your data by clearing the browser's storage — so keep your own backups using the PDF export.
